Why Collaboration Is The Best Form Of Marketing

If you've followed my work and my blog for a while, you'll probably have noticed that I'm constantly meeting up and working with other creatives within my industry. It might seem like this is just for fun, and while it certainly is a lot of fun, it's not done absent mindedly!

You see, collaboration is just as much a form of marketing as posting to Instagram is.

Let me explain.

When you collaborate, you double your exposure! That make up artist, that designer, that florist, that jewellery designer; they've all got an audience of their own. You have your audience/followers, and they have theirs. And guess what, a lot of their audience probably don't follow you! Well, not yet at least.

Here's where collaboration comes in! If you work in collaboration with someone, and I mean IN COLLABORATION (not using them for their following), it's highly likely that the person you're working alongside is going to share that work you've produced with their audience.

You guess it, that means they're sharing you with their audience.

People are more likely to trust services/products/people that they're recommended. It's human nature! If your best friend tells you the restaurant they went to last night was amazing, you'll be far more likely to go there than if you didn't know that.

That's why collaboration with other creatives in your industry, or similar industry to yours, is such a good idea! When they tell their audiences about you and how amazing your work is, guess what; they're far more likely to follow you, and trust you.

I can tell you right now, from the bottom of my heart, that if it wasn't for the hundreds of collaborations I've done over the years, I would not be where I am right now.

So if this hasn't been incentive enough to get out there, make some friends and collaborate together, then I don't know what is. Happy collaborating!
